Woman wearing white dress in summer garden
Claude Monet was a French late 19th century artist who was one of the most prolific practitioners of the Impressionist art movement. Monet produced ‘Woman in the Garden’ in 1866 which depicts Jeanne-Marguerite Lecadre, the young wife of Monet’s cousin, in her country house near Sainte-Adresse in Normandy, France. The painting is composed and detailed unlike Monet’s later impressionist work.
